EXAMINING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL AND PRODUCTIVITY OF UNIVERSITY

In the knowledgebased economy, products and organizations live and die based on knowledge. The most successful organizations are those which use this intangible assets better and more quickly. From the strategic perspective, nowadays, intellectual capital is used to create and enhance organizational value, and it is a vital stimulus to sustain the validity of an inter organizational system in a competitive environment. So to increase efficiency as a knowledge oriented organization higher education institutions should pay specific attention to intellectual capital as an independent variable. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of intellectual capital on the efficiency of one of the universities in Iran. This paper is descriptive and its method is survey research. The population is all the staff and faculty and university administrations. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant positive relationship between intellectual capital and productivity. So, byincreasing the intellectual capital components, the efficiency of organizations is improved too. The results also show that the effect of structural capital on productivity of the studied university is more than the other intellectual variables. The results of this study are in line with previous studies in other organizations and businesses such as banks, manufacturers of electrical products, automotive correspond Saipa and other knowledgebased organizations.
