چکیده :

The study area in this research is the oil-contaminated soils around of Ahvaz in the province of Khuzestan. In the first step, based on the direct observation of the study area and the opinions of the experts of the company, four oil-polluted spots were chosen as research stations. In each station, two depths of 25 cm and 50 cm were sampled as control soil. In order to make comparison with oil-polluted soils, some soils, from the area that no apparent pollution had been observed there and had a proper distance from the research stations, were chosen and sampled.Also,geographical characteristics of all sampling points were determined and recorded by a GPS device. In the next step, the amounts of nickel, vanadium and cobalt were measured by an atomic absorption device. And the amount of petroleum (oil and grease) was measured by a gas chromatography. The results of these measurements showed that the amounts of oil and grease, nickel and vanadium at the soil surface were less than its depth. Moreover, the amount of oil materials in each station’s samples was more than the control samples of that research station. Also, cobalt concentration in all samples as well as control samples of each of the four stations will increase with the increase of depth.
