Nanoporous silica anchored with sulfonic acid groups effectively catalyzes the
iodination of aromatic compounds. The reaction was performed in water using hydrogen
peroxide as oxidant. The recyclability of catalyst in green media significantly contributes
to the environmental friendliness of the procedure.
