Masters student Geography of Rural Planning, Tehran Branch, Tehran University, Tehran, Iran *Corresponding Author: fahimeh.khajehnabei@yahoo.com Abstract In general, sustainable development of a city is due to sustainable, constructive, systematic and human-like interactions of human with human (in different dimensions) and human with environment (in the natural – ecological dimension). Because of these interactions the city will be habitable environmentally, economically viable, socially cohesive and more beautiful over time. Tourism macroeconomic policies must be designed and implemented accompanied by environmental resources. Otherwise, the expansion of the industry in natural will leave devastating effects on national resources and even cultural heritage. To protect better the environment from the use of this industry and movement toward sustainable development reasonable grounds must be provided. In this regard, three ecological sustainability, cultural - social sustainability and economic stability must be considered in relation to tourism development. The issues that arise in the field of tourism sustainable development policies must be implemented by the relevant authorities since there must be compatible strategies between tourism development and environment. Accordingly this article attempts to prove the fact that tourists, as intelligent element and an input of an urban system can lead to positive effects on all aspects of place-space and sustainable development of the city. While urban managers must provide structures, infrastructures and define the proper functioning of stated amounts in the city and its hinterland by mutual interaction for maximum utilization of the mentioned benefits.
