Abstract: As a result of the expansion of cities, human societies have confronted many problems, the most evident of which is the uneven environmental structure of cities that has brought about uneven urban development in recent decades and the disruption of the environments in old and new textures. Due to its horizontal development in recent decades, Qazvin has undergone such problems. The present study aims to provide some strategies for the improvement of Qazvin’s structure through exploiting the natural, social, physical and functional components of environment, and transportation system which are the effective factors in the formation of the environmental structure. This study is an applied and problem-solving research, is based on environmental data and has been conducted by descriptive analytical method using field data (direct observation and interviews), library method (taking notes) and SWOT analysis. This paper has proposed some strategies for the development of the city of Qazvin by identifying internal strengths and weaknesses, and external opportunities and threats. The results suggest that the city of Qazvin does not have a good environmental structure and needs some plans for its improvement and consistency.
