چکیده :

This study is conducted with the aim at comparing the brain-behavioral systems and positive and negative affect in women with migraine headaches and healthy women. In this study, the studied sample consisted of two groups wherein 95 are women with migraine and 98 ones were healthy women selected by convenience sampling. The patient group included the women with migraine headaches and selected based on the neurologist's diagnosis from the patients presenting in clinics and medical centers; and the healthy group included the patients' attendants who were matched with patient group in terms of age, gender and educational level. Gary-Wilson Personality Questionnaire (GWPQ) is utilized for investigating the brain- behavioral systems, and Watson, Clark and Tellegen's Positive and Negative Affect Scale is applied for measuring the Positive and Negative Affect. Data is analyzed by SPSS19 Software and multivariate analysis of variance (ANOVA). The statistical analyses indicate that there is a significant difference between women with migraine headaches and healthy women in terms of dependent variables of Behavioral Inhibition System as well as passive avoidance component and negative affect, but there is no significant difference between them in terms of other variables of Behavioral Activation System and Fight. Flight System as well as the approach component, active avoidance, extinction, fight, flight and positive affect.
