Drought and its consequences are having adverse impacts on many regions, including Iran. In order to mitigate such effects, utilizing groundwater as an additional resource to meet the consumers’ demands becomes an acceptable and proper choice worldwide. However, over exploitation of this resource could have significant and irreversible impacts on the aquifers, leading to destruction of these valuable assets. Researchers have sought solutions through investigating groundwater resources (Bozorg-Haddad et al. 2013; Fallah- Mehdipour 2013b) conjunctive use operation (Fallah-Mehdipour 2013a), which mainly focused on optimal solutions to tackle the former problems. However, even though optimization could give helpful insights regarding the ideal solution to the problem, the given solution might not be an achievable one (Madani 2010).
