چکیده :

This paper attempts to answer the question whether organizational excellence is desirable in Rasht municipality. The researchmethod is descriptive-analytical. Its type is applicable too. In this method, performance of Rasht municipality was evaluated by European Foundation for Quality Management(EFQM). Accordingly, its standard questionnaire is distributed containing questions for each dimension of the model and its components. The research statistical population consists of all official employees working in Rasht municipality with bachelor's degree or higher, which they are 163 employees, according calculation sample. Finally, the research hypotheses were tested using the collected data. Results of testing hypotheses of the research and the conducted analyses using single t-student test indicate the fact thatorganizational excellence of Rasht municipality is lower than mean level in most of criteria. In other words, organizational excellence is not desirable in Rasht municipality; therefore, considering improvement areas and attempt to solve them can enhance organizational excellence of Rasht municipality.
