چکیده :

The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between Internet addictions and variables of metacognition, emotional intelligence and sensation seeking. The population consisted of all the people referred to local Internet service providers (internet cafe) in Zahedan and Zanjan. The sample included 129 subjects referred to internet cafe who were selected through convenience sampling (70 subjects from Zahedan and 59 subjects from Zanjan). Questionnaires of Internet addiction, metacognition, sensation seeking and emotional intelligence were used to collect data and descriptive indicators, Chi-square test, Pearson correlation coefficient and t-test were used to compare the mean of independent groups, for data analysis. The results showed that Internet addiction had no significant relationship with sensation seeking and emotional intelligence. However, there was a significant relationship between Internet addiction and metacognition subscales.
