چکیده :

The effects of planting date and foliar applications of salicylic acid were tested on forage quality traits of corn hybrids. The tests were done as a split plot factorial experiment in a completely randomized design with three replicates in the year (2011). Treatments consisted of two maize cultivars; Ks 704 and n 504; 2 foliar applications of salicylic acid phase concentrations (0, and 1 m M) and 2 planting dates of (15th July, August 5th), Quality evaluations were taken for the following traits; dry matter production (DMD), protein (CP), carbohydrate (WSC), fiber (ADF) and shoot ash (ASH). Results showed that dry matter production, fiber and ash were affected by planting date and corn hybrid corn at levels 1% and 5% percent respectively, demonstrating significant difference. Salicylic acid, protein and ash were effective at the level of 5% difference. Hybrid × foliar application of Acid salicylic acid showed significant difference and other characteristics were not significantly affected. Two factors CP.and ASH under planting date × hybrid showed a statistically significant difference of 5%. Results of the survey show that the best planting date on protein, carbohydrate and ash, was the second planting date (5th August) but for dry matter production and fiber, but the first planting date (5th August) is appropriate. The most relevant characteristics of hybrid corn concentration and foliar applications of salicylic acid concentration of 1 m M respectively were for hybrid Ks704.
