چکیده :

This study aimed at investigating emotional intelligence and professional empowerment and its relationship with the performance of practitioners in the field of accounting. The research model was formed considering emotional intelligence as independent variable, employees' performance as dependent variable and professional empowerment as a mediator. This applied research used a survey design in which a questionnaire was distributed among a sample of 50 participants employed at tile and ceramic companies in Yazd; the number of participants was determined using random sampling. Analyzing the data by LISREL, it was found that regardless of the mediator, there is a positive relationship between emotional intelligence and job performance. Based on the results, if mediator is considered, professional empowerment does not play a role in the relationship between emotional intelligence and job performance and consequently emotional intelligence does not affect job performance through professional empowerment
