چکیده :

In this paper, an analytical model for perforation of fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) laminates under impact of flat-ended projectiles has been developed. The global deformation with local rupture and wave-dominated local failure has been considered. Simple analytical model for both global deformation and wave-dominated local failure has been presented, and a shear failure criterion is employed to predict the perforation of FRP laminates which fail in global deformation mode. Also impact on FRP laminates has been numerically modeled by LS-DYNA code. It is shown that the analytical and numerical model predictions are in good agreement with available experimental observation.
