In order to consider the allelopathic effect of aqueous extracts of Artemisia annua on germination and early growth of some plants including Linum usitatissimum, Brassica napus L, Helianthus annuus, and Carthamus tinctorius, an experiment was carried out using a completely accidental design with five treatments (control, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% concentrations of aqueous extracts) and four replications in the laboratory. Results were analyzed by SAS software with means subjected to Duncan test at 5% probability level indicated that the effect of different concentrations of Artemisia annua extract was significant on germination percentage and rate, plumule and radicle lengths and fresh and dried weights of seedlings. Our data equally indicated that the germination frequency and growth of the plants were reduced by increasing the extract concentration, which also led to a significant reduction in fresh and dried weights of all seedlings.
